Is your Yahoo Store not Recognizing your Changes?

Have you ever made a change to your Yahoo Store and hit publish only to see that the change is not there?  Then, if you are like me, you go back and double check the code or possibly even redo it and publish again and the change is still not there!  How frustrating is that?  Hitting F5 or refreshing your page over and over doesn't solve the problem.  Its actually a small glitch in the Yahoo Store publising platform but its very easy to remedy.

Sometimes when you make a change and publish, the Yahoo Store publisher does not recognize it and therefore the change you made does not show up.  To solve the problem you need to force your Yahoo Store to do a FULL publish on your site.  Simply goto Variables in the Store Editor and click update.  Anytime you visit the Variables area in your Store Editor, it tells Yahoo to do a full publish.

So next time you make a change that does not show up properly, before you start banging your head on the desk and throwing your keyboard out the window, simply log back into your Yahoo Store, click Variables, click Update and Republish and your change should be effective.

I hope this little trick helps you and if you are interested in learning more of these tips along with others, you should subscribe to our Y Store Tutorials Backstage Pass
