Quick & Easy Conversion Techniques
Once you finally get your Yahoo Store up and running and making money, the next question is usually always
How do I increase conversions?
Most online Yahoo Store owners focus on more traffic and thats ok. You should always be concerned about the numbers but think about this for a second. Let's say you get 1000 visitors per day to your site and you get 10 orders per day. That is a 1% conversion rate. Now if you can double your conversion rate, that would give you a 2% conversion which means you are getting 20 orders per day on the same amount of traffic. Double your conversions and you double your business…its that simple. Let me show you our top 10 quickest and easiest conversion techniques that you can do instantly.
- Increase your font size - Thats right, you heard me. Make your font larger. If you and your competitor have no difference in price, customer service, images and site, the one thing that could put you in the forefront is the font size. As monitors continue to get larger and wider and screen resolutions go over 1024 x 768, you need to adjust your text sizes. Increasing your font size could increase your conversions by up to 7%. Thats staggering!
- Make your images larger - Just like above, as the screen resolutions get higher, your copy and images need to get larger. The best part about a Yahoo Store is that you can do this by changing a couple of variables and it will change throughout your whole store. Not many shopping cart or ecommerce platforms can boast this.
- Customer testimonials - Everyone wants to keep up with the Jones' right? Well by adding testimonials to your site, you instantly build credibility and give your shoppers a way to relate to others that have purchased the same types of products.
- Coupons - Don't let your coupon section go unused. This is huge and can help you generate more sales and even a higher per sale average. If your average ticket is 50 bucks and not offering a coupon such as; Get 10% off on all orders over 75 dollars, or Free Shipping on Orders of 75.00 or more, then you are leaving some serious money on the table. People, especially women, LOVE coupons and anything that adds value can make you more money and get you more sales.
- Phone number - Make it easy for your shoppers to call you. Honestly, I hardly get any calls at all from my eStores but it sure makes people feel better knowing they can if they need to. Remember, its all about perception. You may not be able to answer calls at all and thats ok, just hook an answering machine. Just having a number listed at the top of your Yahoo Store can really do wonders.
- Paypal - If you don't have a paypal account, GET IT! Its like money in the bank. You would be surprised at just how many people use paypal to shop. And Yahoo likes em'
- Trust Icons - Any and all of them. All those little icons and logos make people feel warm and fuzzy about buying from you. Take advantage of it. If you or your suppliers ship with UPS, FexEx, USPS, DHL, etc, then add those logos to your site. If you accept credit cards, add them. Seeing Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover makes a difference. Maybe your competitor doesn't accept Discover cards but you do…if you don't have the logo, how would your customers know? BBB Online, Hackersafe, buySAFE, Truste, Yahoo Shopping, BizRate, etc. All these icons and logos build trust and in today's world where everytime you turn on the TV there is some special about identity fraud or credit card fraud, this is a must have and great for conversion. Don't give your shoppers ANY doubt that buying from you would be unsafe.
- Low Price Guarantee - With so many comparision shopping sites out there you should always have a "Low Price Guarantee" which makes all those window shoppers turn into buyers. The funny thing about a low price guarantee is that its a mind game. Most people just assume that since you offer a low price guarantee then you are indeed have the lowest prices and therefore make the purchase.
- Start a Blog - Yes, blogging seems to be the most talked about thing lately and justly so. Not only does a blog add more content to your ecommerce business, add page rank, internal links and a whole ton of other things, but a blog adds dimension, personality and important updates for your shoppers to read. If you can get their attention and keep them on your site longer and coming back more often, your conversions will increase.
