Everyone knows that content is the biggest on page factor for natural search engine optimization but if you are not generating incoming links to your site, you are missing it completely. Consider linking to be votes. The more votes (links) you get to your site, the more popular you are to the search engines. The more popular you are, the higher up the ladder you go.  The higher up the ladder you go, the more traffic you get and the more traffic you get, the more sales you make.  You have probably all heard the saying "Sales is a numbers game" and its true.  The more numbers you get, the more sales you make.  Selling really is a numbers game.

So to get back on track…get those links! Claw, scratch, bite, beg but do whatever it takes to get links on your site.  The best links are ones that you get yourself. Scouring the web and finding quality sites that compliment yours and requesting a link exchange is a sure fire winner.  Sure its time consuming but that should be one of your top tasks to do on a daily basis.

The first place to head is your suppliers.  If you are spending money with your suppliers they should have no problems giving you a link. Those are the easy ones to get. Also be sure to add a "Wanna trade Links" page to your site.  There is nothing better than allowing others to contact you to give you links.  If you don't offer it you wont get many requests for link exchanges but if you have it on your site for all to see, you would be surprised at how many people will be knocking at your door to exchange links with you.

As good as a Yahoo Store is, you still must take action to be better than your competition and this is one of those things that you must do in order to stay ahead of the game. Remember, its a business you are running and as with any business there are things that need to happen to be able to be successful and most importantly, stay in business.  Don't be a statistic.
